QUAKE WORLD 2021 DUEL LEAGUE

01. INFORMATION


This is a Quake World 1on1 death match competition that uses a Round Robin System groups with similar skills.
After the group stage, brackets with single elimination takes place in one single evening. The HT Challenge Cup !!!

We are starting on 3rd of January 2021.
The league group phase is then followed by The HT Challenge Cup on a date and times yet to decide.

The objective is confrontation, points and ACTIVITY.

Depending on donations, cash prizes might be involved.
The top 4 bracket winners are qualified for these prizes.
As ususal, administrators decide the percentage and what group(s) will receive, as it always depends on the ammount involved.
(PayPal or any other company fees still to deduct from the total prize)

02. SIGNING UP


HT-QWL is open for all European Quake World players, however, non-European players are free to sign up as long as they play their matches in Europe (if both players agree, games can be played on a non-European server).

Sign up must be made by filling in a form located on the league signup section.

Players will be selected one by one and we give preference to European players, known nicks on Quake World servers on a daily basis and we give much preference to players that signed up on previous seasons.

Players that signed up on previous seasons and did not respect the league rules and/or showed bad behavior, dropped after signing up, etc, might not be accepted.
Be aware, that by signing up does not mean you are accepted.

Players with multiple registration entries will be disqualified. It's NOT possible to play in several divisions in parallel.

Sign-ups open on the 12th of December 2020.
Sign-ups close on the 20th of December 2020 @ 23:59 CE(S)T, NO EXCEPTIONS.

03. CLIENTS


ALLOWED CLIENTS:
ezQuake (3.1.x, 3.2x, 3.5x, 3.6x) Note: 3.5x is only allowed if version is equal or superior to Alpha 18)
FodQuake: NOT ALLOWED
FTEQW: NOT ALLOWED
Standard QWCL, mqwcl and FuhQuake: NOT ALLOWED
The allowed proxies are Qizmo 2.91 and the latest QWfwd.

ALLOWED RULESETS:
ezQuake: smackdown, qcon
Thunderdome and Default ruleset's are NOT allowed in this competition.

Players are required to do F_RULESET CHECK before game start.
If a player do not make this check BEFORE the game starts, we then assume that both agreed to play as it was.

System: ** Always do f_system Before game starts or if your opponent leaves the server.
/allow_f_system 1 " MUST be used by ALL players.

04. GAME SETTINGS

No berzerk, midair, instagib or other unusual modes

Spectators are NOT allowed. QTV should available for who wants to spectate.

Note: Whatever settings are used, we assume that both players agreed to before the game.

05. MAPS


This league's map pool is 8 MAPS 
DM2 , DM4 , DM6 , AEROWALK , ZTNDM3 , SKULL , BRAVADO , SHIFTER

ON GROUP STAGE:
Each player PICKS 3 MAPS and ALL 6 MUST BE PLAYED!!
(All 6 maps should be different but if both players agree then a map can be played a maximum of 2 times).
(If both players agree, any of these maps can be replaced by another map, except for dmm4 maps).

MATCH TAG should be inserted by typing /1on1 HT3 on console, before match starts.

THE FIRST PLAYER TO PICK MUST BE DONE BY THE FOLLOWING EXAMPLE:
(If players don't agree on who picks first)
/RND PLAYER-X PLAYER-Y
(pick as you go is the default rule)

(example):
player Y was chosen, must pick first map and play it
player X picks 1 map and plays it
player Y picks 1 map and plays it
player X picks 1 map and plays it
player Y picks 1 map and plays it
player X picks 1 map and plays it
game over.

During a game, if a player doesn't want to play that map any more, can type "/break".
The opponent can choose to type break or keep playing.
IF /BREAK HAPPENS then the map will be loss by the player that decided to break first. The final result will be whatever score was at the moment of break. 
(please download demo)

Screenshots or any kind of prove of that map’s “break” decision must be sent on discord to an admin.

WalkOver on a map will result in 100 negative frags to the loser and 100 positive frags to the winer on that map.
(please inform an admnin that there is 1 less demo on the file that you reported and what map was WO).

06. BAD BEHAVIOUR


Disconnecting voluntarily during a match means a straight walkover on current map or game(unless "timed out" - decision by admins).

Unnecessary whining is not necessary.
Any kind of lameness will not be tolerated and can lead to WO in the current game or to a ban for the current and next season.

Movement scripts are not allowed. Make sure to check that your opponents have them turned off before starting to play.
If your opponents were using movement scripts during the match because YOU didn't check before it started, then WILL BE ALLOWED!

Wall-hacks, aim-bots, automatic timers, ghosting and/or any other kind of cheats are not allowed, this will lead to a permanent BAN on this league.

If you do not want to get banned from discord server, here are some simple rules to follow:
1) No spamming on discord server.
2) Please respect each other. (i.e. no racism, personal insults to others, text in caps, etc.)
3) Don’t post NSFW pictures, videos or any porn related on discord server.

In case of bad behavior, racism, personal offense, offensive language, etc. always take screenshots from the chat and send to an administrator by typing /screenshot

07. SCHEDULING


Scheduling your schedules MUST be done on discord server, in your private division channel always identifying with @ your opponent and an @admin.

After the game is properly scheduled with your opponent, you must place the game's TIME AND DATE on the schedule section on this website.

Private chats between players and / or admins will NOT be accepted.

Each player plays ONCE EVERY WEEK with a different opponent on his group.

Games played in advance are allowed and welcomed (please notify an admin).

The WEEK STARTS every Sunday and END'S every Saturday.
ALL WEEKLY GAMES MUST BE PLAYED WITHIN THESE DAYS.
Every Sunday morning WO’s will be assigned!

ALL schedules must be done in CE(S)T time.
In case of disagreement or issues we assume that whatever time Scheduled was in CE(S)T.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION (example):
Game scheduled for week 4 - PLAYER Y vs PLAYER X
1) PLAYER Y cannot play and asks PLAYER X to play on the week 5
2) PLAYER X agrees 
3) On the week 5, if PLAYER X cannot play the game then PLAYER Y has the right to win by WO.
IT'S THAT SIMPLE!

08. REPORTING


REPORTING your matches report MUST be done on REPORTS section by the winner.
(In case of draw the report must be accomplished by the player that picked first map).

Players have until the game’s deadline to report the played match.
1 point WILL be removed to the player that didn’t report in time.

All map .MVD DEMOS must be compressed into a rar , 7z , gz , tar.gz or zip file and uploaded to our servers with your name and your opponent’s name. (ex. hammer_vs_ragga.rar)
Get the .mvd demos downloaded from the server. You can download the last demo on the server by /cmd dl ., the second last demo by /cmd dl .. etc. You can download all the previous 6 demos by /cmd dl . .. ... .... ..... ......"

if you are not sure, you can use /cmd dlist *your_nick* to check for demo IDs. Then /cmd dl ID1,ID2,ID3...

Players must use their registered and signed up nick on official games.
Demos reported that contain players with different nicks will NOT be processed and NOT accepted.

09. SERVERS


For the most FAIRNESS and EVEN GAMES, ALL EUROPEAN PLAYERS MUST PLAY WITH NO MORE THAN 14ms PING DIFFERENCE.
/CL_DELAY_PACKET must be used if needed.

A maximum of 52ms is allowed due to players participating from Spain, Portugal and Russia.
If a player has more than 52ms on london.badplace.eu, nl2.badplace.eu and/or GetQuad servers then is considered NON-EUROPEAN.

NON-EUROPEAN PLAYERS HAVE TO PLAY ON A SERVER WHERE HIS EUROPEAN OPPONENT PINGS 52ms AS MAXIMUM and 38ms AS MINIMUM.
Usualy these games happen on london.badplace.eu

The League Admins insist that the players server-choice is done with common sense and that pings are kept as low as possible, however, if players don't agree, the server is determined by the following procedure:

- All players have to show their lowest possible ping 2. A server has to be found where all players get a ping, which is about the same amount, higher than their lowest possible ping.

- If players still can't agree on a server, please contact admins about it. Admin decision is final.
Also, to clarify problems with connection. If a player has problems with his connection during a map, it's up to his opponent to break and restart that same map or keep playing it until the end.

- If his opponent decided to play until the end of the map then, if players don't agree on what to do next, an admin should be notified to resolve the situation. Can be decided that the remaining maps should be played on another time and/or day.
Administrators decision is final.
Whatever settings were used we assume both players agreed.

10. POINTS SYSTEM


1 Point for each map won
1 Point for activity
7 Points for game WO victory
-1 Point for game WO loss

FRAGS FOR WO VICTORY:

THE NUMBER OF ALL THE PLAYER FRAGS "FOR" DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF MAPS PLAYED* = FRAG "FOR" AVERAGE NUMBER.

* (ALL GAMES, ONLY AFTER TOURNAMENT IS OVER)
IN THE END OF THE LEAGUE, IF 2 OR MORE PLAYERS HAVE THE SAME EXACT NUMBER OF POINTS THEN:

1. THE MATCH SCORE POINTS BETWEEN THOSE PLAYERS WILL DETERMINE WHICH PLAYER STAYS ON TOP.
2. IN CASE OF THOSE SAME MATCHES (referred in point 1).
1) WAS A DRAW THEN THE FRAG DIFFERENCE WILL DETERMINE WHO STAYS ON TOP.

(IN THE EXTREME CASE OF FRAG DIFFERENCE IS EQUAL BETWEEN THOSE PLAYERS, THEN A BO5 GAME MUST HAPPEN IN THE END OF THE LEAGUE)

(THIS GAME MUST BE PLAYED ON THE DAY FOLLOWING THE LAST ROUND DEADLINE, AT 18 CET)

(IF BOTH PLAYERS DON'T SHOW FOR THIS GAME, THEN /RND PLAYER-Y PLAYER-X WILL DETERMINE WHO STAYS ON TOP)

WO will be given to the player that during the week tried to schedule the game without success. If none of the players tried to schedule then WO will be assigned to both.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ON THE 1st WO, THAT PLAYER WILL BE DISQUALIFIED (In the end of the league).
This means that NO WALKOVERS ARE ALLOWED !!!

Disqualification:
When a player is disqualified ALL his games (played and remaining) as well as his results will be erased and ALL his opponents will receive WO.

READ RULES CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGN-UP !

11. HT III CHALLENGE CUP


Single elimination.

ROUND 1: BO3
ROUND 2: BO3
ROUND 3: BO3
ROUND 4: BO5
ROUND 5: BO5 (3rd vs 4th)
Final: BO7 (1st vs 2nd)

Player with highest ranking decides who picks first.
Player that picked first map tosses first.
Each map can only be played once.
The map played less from the group stage will be removed from the cup.

All other rules are the same as HT Season 3.
