QUAKE WORLD 2023 TEAM LEAGUE

01. INFORMATION


This is a QuakeWorld 2on2 deathmatch competition that uses a Round Robin System groups with similar skills.
After the group stage, brackets with single elimination takes place in one single evening. The Challenge Cup!

This event starts on the 8th of January 2023 with an average duration between 8 and 12 weeks.
The Challenge Cup will happen on a date and times yet to decide.

The objective is confrontation, points and activity.
Prizes are fame and glory :)

02. SIGNING UP


HT-QWE 2on2 SEASON IV is open for ALL QuakeWorld players but non-European players might have to play their games in European servers, unless both players / teams agree otherwise.
Sign up must be made by filling in a form located on the league signup section.
Teams are allowed to have a maximum of 3 players but the seedings will be done accordingly with the 2 highest skilled players within each team.

Teams and/or players will be selected one by one and we give preference to known nicks and we give much preference to players that signed up on previous seasons.
Teams and/or players that signed up on previous seasons and did not respect the league rules and/or showed bad behavior, dropped after signing up, etc., might not be accepted.
Be aware, that by signing up does not mean you are accepted.

Teams/players with multiple registration entries will be disqualified.
It's NOT possible to play in several divisions in parallel.

TO AVOID FAKERS, QUAKE NICK AUTHENTICATION IS REQUESTED.

(If you use nQuake 3.6 client, it’s simple to login every time you join the servers).

Sign-ups open on the 11th of December 2022.
Sign-ups close on the 30th of December 2022 @ 23:59 CE(S)T, NO EXCEPTIONS!

03. CLIENTS


ezQuake 3.6.1, released on 2022-11-05 (https://ezquake.com/info/downloads.html) or the latest Anti-Lag Client for non-European players.

FodQuake: NOT ALLOWED
FTEQW: NOT ALLOWED
Standard QWCL, mqwcl and FuhQuake: NOT ALLOWED
The allowed proxy is Qizmo 2.9.

RULESETS:
ezQuake: smackdown, qcon
Thunderdome and Default ruleset's are NOT allowed in this competition.

Players are required to do F_RULESET CHECK before game start.
If a player do not make this check BEFORE the game starts, we then assume that both agreed to play as it was.

System: ** Always do f_system before game starts or if your opponent leaves the server.
“/allow_f_system 1" MUST be used by ALL players.

04. GAME SETTINGS

05. MAPS


This league's map pool is:
DM2 , DM4 , DM6 , AEROWALK , ZTNDM3 , BRAVADO , SHIFTER

ON GROUP STAGE:
Each team PICKS 2 MAPS and ALL 4 MUST BE PLAYED.
(if both teams agree then a map can be played more than once).
(If both teams agree, any of these maps can be replaced by another map, except dmm4 maps).

MATCH TAG should be inserted by typing /2on2 HT on console, before match starts.

THE FIRST TEAM TO PICK MUST BE DONE BY THE FOLLOWING EXAMPLE:
(If teams don't agree on who picks first)
/RND TEAM-X TEAM-Y
(pick as you go is the default rule)

(example):
team Y was chosen, must pick first map and play it
team X picks 1 map and plays it
team Y picks 1 map and plays it
team X picks 1 map and plays it
game over.

During a game, if a team doesn't want to play more, they can type "/break".
The opponents can choose to type break or keep playing.
IF /BREAK happens then the map will be loss by the team that decided to break first. The final result will be whatever score was at the moment of break.
(Please download demo).

Screenshots or any kind of prove of that map’s “break” decision must be sent on discord to an @admin.

Walkover on a map will result in 100 negative frags to the loser and 100 positive frags to the winner on that map.
(please inform an admin that there is 1 less demo on the file that you reported and what map was WO).

06. BAD BEHAVIOUR


Disconnecting voluntarily during a match means a straight walkover on current map or game (unless "timed out" - decision by admins).

Unnecessary whining is not necessary.
Any kind of lameness will not be tolerated and can lead to WO in the current game or to a ban for the current and next season.

Movement scripts are not allowed. Make sure to check that your opponents have them turned off before the game.
Wall-hacks, aim-bots, automatic timers, ghosting and/or any other kind of cheats are not allowed, this will lead to a permanent BAN on this league.

If you do not want to get banned from discord server, here are some simple rules to follow:
1) No spamming on discord server.
2) Please respect each other. (i.e., no racism, personal insults to others, text in caps, etc.)
3) Don’t post NSFW pictures, videos or any porn related on discord server.

In case of bad behavior, racism, personal offense, offensive language, etc. always take screenshots from the chat and send to an administrator by typing /screenshot

07. SCHEDULING


Teams MUST select one Captain, this person is responsible for ALL of his team decisions, schedules, reports, etc..
Scheduling your games MUST be done on discord server, in your private division channel always identifying with @ your opponent and an @admin.
After the game is properly scheduled with your opponent, you must place the game's TIME AND DATE on the schedule section on this website.
Private chats between players and / or admins will NOT be accepted.
Each team plays ONCE EVERY WEEK with a different opponent on his group.
Games played in advance are allowed and welcomed (please notify an admin).

The WEEK STARTS every Sunday and END'S every Saturday at 23:59.
ALL WEEKLY GAMES MUST BE PLAYED WITHIN THESE DAYS.
Every Sunday morning WO’s will be assigned!

ALL schedules MUST BE done in CE(S)T time.
In case of disagreement or issues we assume that whatever time Scheduled was in CE(S)T.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION (example):
Game scheduled for week 4 - TEAM Y vs TEAM X
1) TEAM Y cannot play and asks TEAM X to play on the week 5
2) TEAM X agrees
3) On the week 5, if TEAM X cannot play the game then TEAM Y has the decision to win by WO or re-schedule.

08. REPORTING


REPORTING your matches report MUST be done on REPORTS section by the winner.
(In case of draw the report must be accomplished by the team that picked first map).

Teams have until the game’s deadline to report the played match.
1 point can be removed to the team that didn’t report in time.

All map .MVD DEMOS must be compressed into a rar , 7z , gz , tar.gz or zip file and uploaded to our servers with your name and your opponent’s name. (ex. rot_vs_m00.rar)
Get the .mvd demos downloaded from the server. You can download the last demo on the server by /cmd dl ., the second last demo by /cmd dl .. etc. You can download all the previous 6 demos by /cmd dl . .. ... .... ..... ......"
If you are not sure, you can use /cmd dlist *your_nick* to check for demo IDs. Then /cmd dl ID1,ID2,ID3...
Alternatively you can look for your demos at https://vikpe.org/qw-demos/

Players must use the nick they signup on official games.
Demos reported that contain players with different nicks will NOT be accepted.

09. SERVERS


Games between different region players can happen, so keep in mind that the new ANTILAG client can be used.

The League Admins insist that the players server-choice is done with common sense and that pings are kept as low as possible, however, if players don't agree, the server is determined by the following procedure:

- All players have to show their lowest possible ping 2. A server has to be found where all players get a ping, which is about the same amount, higher than their lowest possible ping.

- If teams still can't agree on a server, please contact admins about it.
Admin decision is final.
Also, to clarify problems with connection. If a player has problems with his connection during a map, it's up to his opponent to break and restart that same map or keep playing it until the end.

- If his opponent decided to play until the end of the map then, if teams don't agree on what to do next, an admin should be notified to resolve the situation. Can be decided that the remaining maps should be played on another time and/or day.
Administrator’s decision is final.
Whatever settings were used we assume both teams agreed.

10. POINTS SYSTEM


1 Point for each map won
1 Point for activity
4 Points for game WO victory
-1 Point for game WO loss

FRAGS FOR WO VICTORY:

THE NUMBER OF ALL THE TEAM FRAGS "FOR" DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF MAPS PLAYED* = FRAG "FOR" AVERAGE NUMBER.

* (ALL GAMES, ONLY AFTER TOURNAMENT IS OVER)
IN THE END OF THE LEAGUE, IF 2 OR MORE TEAMS HAVE THE SAME EXACT NUMBER OF POINTS THEN:

1. THE MATCH SCORE POINTS BETWEEN THOSE TEAMS WILL DETERMINE WHICH STAYS ON TOP.
2. IN CASE OF THOSE SAME MATCHES (referred in point 1).
1) WAS A DRAW THEN THE FRAG DIFFERENCE WILL DETERMINE WHO STAYS ON TOP.

(IN THE EXTREME CASE OF FRAG DIFFERENCE IS EQUAL BETWEEN THOSE TEAMS, THEN A BO5 GAME MUST HAPPEN IN THE END OF THE LEAGUE)

(THIS GAME MUST BE PLAYED ON THE DAY FOLLOWING THE LAST ROUND DEADLINE, AT 18 CET)

(IF BOTH TEAMS DON'T SHOW FOR THIS GAME, THEN /RND PLAYER-Y PLAYER-X WILL DETERMINE WHO STAYS ON TOP)

WO will be given to the team that during the week tried to schedule the game without success. If none of the teams tried to schedule then WO will be assigned to both.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ON THE 1st WO, THAT TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED (In the end of the league).
This means that NO WALKOVERS ARE ALLOWED !!!

Disqualification:
When a team is disqualified ALL his games (played and remaining) as well as his results will be erased and ALL his opponents will receive WO.

11. PLAYOFFS


1. As all teams are going to the playoffs, this season we will not disqualify teams with WO.
2. Right after brackets are complete, if teams agree, they can play Round 1 ahead of schedule.
3. /RND to decide who picks first.
4. The team that picked second, tosses first.
5. Each map can only be played once.
6. Only maps in the pool are allowed.
7. Reports will be done by pasting demos and screenshots on #playoffs channel.
8. Teams have a maximum of 5 minutes delay between rounds, then WO.
9. If both teams give WO on the playoffs, then we will be going by the points/frags from the group stage to decide who is the winner.
10. All other rules in T2HS4 are applied.

**Div1:**
- Sunday, 19th March 2023, starting 20:00CET
- 1st to 4th of each group dispute 1st to 8th spots on single elimination bracket.
- 5th to 8th of each group dispute 9th to 16th spots on single elimination bracket.

**Div2:**
- Sunday, 19th March 2023, starting 20:00CET
- 1st to 4th of each group dispute 1st to 8th spots on single elimination bracket.
- 5th to 8th of each group dispute 9th to 16th spots on single elimination bracket.
